Sinopse:
A série conta as aventuras da nave espacial Andromeda Ascendant, comandada pelo capitão Dylan Hunt (interpretado por Kevin Sorbo)..
Andrômeda é uma série de ficção científica, baseada nas anotações e textos de Gene Roddenberry (o criador de Jornada nas Estrelas – Star Trek), que foram descobertos por sua esposa.
A série conta a história do Capitão Dylan Hunt e sua poderosa nave, a Andrômeda Ascendant. Hunt, um dos capitães da frota High Guard, ficou congelado por 300 anos, durante uma batalha entre a Comunidade dos Sistemas Estelares (Systems Commonwealth), à qual pertence, e o povo Nietzschean.
Após ser resgatado, ele descobre que a Comunidade dos Sistemas perdeu a guerra e desapareceu. Agora, o universo está imerso no caos, em meio a governos bárbaros. O Capitão Hunt, cuja missão era proteger as civilizações, sente-se obrigado a reconstruir o que foi perdido.
A partir daí, Hunt recruta uma nova tripulação – com Beka, Tyr, Harper, Trance e Rev Bem – e parte em busca de planetas, para formar o New Commonwealth e restaurar a paz no Universo.
